TG25: Live at Doornroosje

by The Gathering

supported by
François Rainville

François Rainville Probably the best reunion live album I've ever heard. Unforgettable song from this band pioneer of this style. Favorite track: On Most Surfaces (Inuit).
Bolthorn

Bolthorn Not a bif fan of reunions and re-gatherings (no pun intended), but this is something different. Basically all their eras with different faces and voices together on the same stage for a wonderful couple of hours, a beautiful setlist and an amazing performance - from everyone. Well done! Favorite track: Travel.
Simon Hill

Simon Hill The genius who conceptualised and achieved the drawing together of the many faces of The Gathering on one stage deserves to be paid handsomely. The shows; performances and recordings are sublime. A wonderful time capsule of a progressive, every thinking, ever evolving band. The only problem...no official video. Favorite track: Nighttime Birds.

about

Digital release of The Gathering - TG25: Live at Doornroosje. This dig. download comes with a pdf booklet with pictures, credits, etc.

25 years The Gathering!

After 25 years of being creative, recording albums and playing live on worldwide tours, we felt it was time to celebrate this with a unique concert. We decided to do something special and came to the idea to ask every member who ones were part of our 25 year history to join us.
Songs were rehearsed and collaborations between old and new members were made.
Few had dared to hope that The Gathering would put on such a big show: it became a complete overview concert, from the very first album Always…(1992) to our latest release: Afterwords (2013) including nearly all the musicians the band has had in its ranks over the years. Result: Doornroosje, a concert hall in the Dutch city of Nijmegen, was sold out twice. And on November 9th 2014, many fans, who had come from far and wide to see one of the two legendary concerts, were treated to a 2,5 hour set, with a selection of songs which lure the listener down memory lane. This live album release is a souvenir of that magical day.
Carefully mixed by Guido Aalbers (who also mixed our highly acclaimed 'Disclosure' album), this release is one of our most memorable ones!
